AID HEALTH CARE IN UKRAINE
Our mission
We focus on funding and delivering hospital compounds and primary medical clinics to ensure all Ukrainians have access to essential healthcare services. Despite the war, Ukrainian healthcare workers continue providing critical care under terrible circumstances. However, continuous attacks on medical facilities threaten their ability to continue their vital work.
Recent incidents, like the Russian missile strike on Kyiv’s largest children’s hospital, Ohmatdyt, highlight the increasing frequency of assaults on healthcare sites in Ukraine. These attacks violate the Geneva Conventions and endanger civilian lives.
Nordic Aid’s ballistic-protected hospital compounds are crucial for enabling doctors and healthcare workers to perform surgeries and provide essential care. By strengthening these facilities, we support Ukrainian medical professionals in their life-saving efforts and ensure the health and survival of the population amid the ongoing invasion.
The Office of Health for System Recovery of the Ministry of Health in Ukraine will assist Nordic Aid in identifying and verifying the most suitable locations for the compounds.
The Ministry of Health will also support the staffing and operational readiness of the hospital facilities and coordinate with local health departments and partners upon installation.
